Privacy

Your voice stays yours.

The short version: Corie never uploads or stores your audio. When you use the optional AI features (AI coach reports and mock interviews), the text of what you said is sent to our AI provider to generate your feedback — never the audio. The full detail is below.

Your audio stays on your device

Voice analysis runs entirely in your browser. Corie never receives, stores, uploads, or transmits your audio recordings — your audio is never sent to or stored on our servers, ever.

To detect filler words and score your words, Corie also transcribes your speech to text using your browser's own speech-recognition feature. In some browsers (for example Chrome and Edge) that built-in feature processes the audio through the browser maker's service (such as Google) to produce the text. That transcription is a function of your browser, not Corie — Corie still never receives your audio either way. If you'd prefer to avoid it, use a browser without speech recognition or skip the features that rely on a transcript.

What we store

If you create an account, we store your email address and your numeric scores (the numbers, not the audio) so you can see your trend over time. That's it. This account data is held in our database, hosted by Supabase. We do not store your audio, and we do not store your transcripts on our servers.

What we send for the optional AI features

Corie's AI features — AI coach reports and scored mock interviews — are optional. When you use them, Corie sends your numeric scores and the text transcript of what you said to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the written feedback. We send the text, never your audio. Corie does not retain these transcripts, and Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models. If you don't use these features, no transcript is sent anywhere.

Who we share data with (subprocessors)

We use a small set of trusted providers to run Corie. They only ever receive what's needed for their function:

These providers are based in the United States and may process the limited data above there. By using Corie you consent to this processing.

The optional weekly progress email

If you opt in, we send an optional weekly email summarizing your progress — your scores and trend. It's sent via Resend. You can opt out anytime using the unsubscribe link in the email or in your account settings, and you'll keep getting essential account emails (like receipts) regardless.

Cookies & local storage

We use essential cookies only — a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in — and your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and local session. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site ad trackers. (For the one cookieless analytics tool we use, see Analytics below.)

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics — a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool — to count page views and basic product events (for example, “started a voice check”) so we can improve Corie. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites, and builds no advertising profile. We never send it your audio, your transcripts, or your scores.

Data retention

Your audio is never stored. Your account email and scores are kept while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we remove your data within 30 days.

Your rights

You can export your data at any time from within the app. To delete your account and data, email privacy@corie.app and we'll remove it within 30 days (see Data retention).

Children

Corie is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

What we never do

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
